Home to career aspirants and youth, Delhi is known for its vibrant, colorful, and foodie environment. A short run away from monotonous city life is what everyone needs as soon as the weekend arrives. Although there are several places which surround the capital including Mathura, Vrindavan, Agra, Jaipur, Ajmer, Haridwar, Dehradoon, Mussoorie, and many more; but once you have there, there is nothing much about them to revisit the places. Here is a quick list of some of the less explored places around Delhi, which are perfect for a weekend gateway.

Manesar

Manesar is located in close extremities from Delhi. Manesar is about 30 mins drive from IGI airport, on NH-8 It’s a small town with resorts. These resorts are perfect for family holidays. They have got several adventures and fun activities that help in rejuvenation. In addition, many of the resorts also offer spa facilities. Bird Sanctuary – Also known as Keoladeo Ghana National Park, the place is nearly 184 KM from Delhi on NH-2 (which connects Delhi to Agra). Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is home to over 350 bird species. The best time to visit the place is in winter when lots of rare species of birds migrate to India and build their nests. If you are a nature lover, the place is a paradise for you.

A hill station at an elevation of 1,706 m on a mound is known for its spotless Himalayan beauty, oak and pine forests, snow-covered peaks. Lansdowne has located in Uttarakhand about 280 Km from Delhi. The place is quite a peaceful one and offers relaxation and rejuvenation from a hectic everyday working schedule. There are several resorts and guest houses for a restful stay.

Located in Alwar in Rajasthan on the Delhi-Jaipur highway, it takes two and half hours to reach Delhi. It is known for its splendid Neemrana Fort Palace. The fort was a palace of Rajput Maharaja Prithvi Raj Chauhan III reigned in 1464 AD, which is now converted into one of the oldest heritage luxury resorts. Neemrana Fort is typically built-in Rajsthani’s style. One can enjoy the blend of historical traditional stay, topped up with modern amenities.

Rajaji National Park is another national park and tiger reserve. Spread over 820 Km, the place is located between Haridwar and Rishikesh there are three wildlife sanctuaries in this area namely, Chilla, Motichur, and Rajaji sanctuaries which were merged into one in 1983. The park is home to the Tiger, Leopards, Cheetah, Himalayan Bears, hog deer, barking deer, Sambar deer, and wild boar, Sloth Bears, Pythons, King Cobra, Common Krait, Indian Cobra, and the Monitor Lizard, and over 50 species of Asian Elephant. One can also see the fossils of faunal different species of elephants. Raja Ji National park offers plenty of opportunities to environment lovers to enjoy the fascinating landscape and flora & fauna.
